Australian Skyberry (or Skybury as it is sometimes known) is grown on the Atherton Tablelands, 35 miles west of Cairns in the Queensland region and is one of the world's rarest arabica coffees, similar in style to the revered Jamaican Blue Mountain. The Skybury Plantation is one of the most modern and efficient in the world.
Australia grows very little coffee due to the geographical characteristics of the country, much of it is tropical, has little reliable rainfall and few areas of sufficient altitude to produce good arabica. Most coffee produced is consumed by the home market but Skyberry is of sufficient prestige to ensure that it is available for the export market!
It is a smooth, mild coffee which is great for drinking at breakfast but is full bodied enough to make it suitable for most times of the day. Ideal for use in a cafetiere. Our Australian Skyberry beans are medium roasted to give a superb chocolaty, well rounded cup.
