This superb quality tamping stand is perfect for the kitchen or coffee shop. Your filter handle fits on the top of the stand with the spouts in the slot allowing you to tamp the coffee without risking damage to the spouts where the coffee comes out. It is the only solution we have found for tamping coffee in a filter handle that has a single offset spout. The thick rubber cover on the top of the stand protects the underside of your filter handle from damage.
One drawback of using a traditional tamping mat is that it soon gets covered in coffee grounds and then when you place the spout on the mat and tamp some of the coffee grounds stick to the spout and then end up in your cup of coffee. When using this stand the spout is elevated above where any stray grinds may be!
It comes with a substantial rubber gasket that fits around the base of the tamping stand with a circular indentation designed to hold your tamper when it is not in use.
