The water is heated in the jug, and the steam generated forces water to rise through the tube and into the funnel. The coffee is brewed at the ideal temperature and develops a full aroma. Once the brewing time has elapsed the heating element switches off and the coffee flows back into the jug ready to be served.
Brewing 12 cups take approximately 11 minutes depending on the coarseness of the grind. The Bodum Santos has a programmable function that enables you to set the machine to start brewing at a particular time - perfect for winter mornings!
